Dante’s Story
When Dante was little he didn’t know who God was. He didn’t know if he was real or fake. He’d been in multiple churches that talked about God but he didn’t believe that God was there. Dante grew up as a foster child who was abused, bullied, and abandoned; he never knew who to turn to. He felt like he was alone until one day he was at a church with his former foster mom and heard a calm, soothing voice as he was sitting alone. Dante thought it was his mom, but nobody was there. Then he heard it say again, “I’m here.”
A couple years later he met the Vagabond missionaries with a friend. He chatted with the staff and they helped him find a relationship with God. Then when Dante got baptized he heard the same voice he heard years ago say to him, “Welcome, my son.”
Dante says, “I thank God for bringing me to where I am. There’s nobody that can beat him because he is the one who can do anything if we trust in him.”
As an adult who has gone through a lot, Dante feels that no matter what someone is going through, God can help them through their pain and suffering. He is looking forward to having God to guide him through life: “I’m grateful to be alive with him.”
